In response to the ongoing economic challenges faced by his constituents, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended his food palliative distribution to traders across the Ido and Ibarapa areas of Oyo State. This initiative is part of the senator’s broader efforts to alleviate the economic hardships in his district.
The distribution, which was announced in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, took place on Wednesday in Ibadan.
The statement detailed the extensive outreach led by Mr. Gbenga Elegbede, who coordinated the delivery of essential food items to market leaders (Babalojas and Iyalojas) from four local governments, encompassing 11 towns and more than 15 markets.
Among the markets that benefited from the palliatives were Apete, Awotan, Akufo, Ido, Omi-Adio, Okolo, Lanlate, Maya, Eruwa, Temidire, Oja-Oba Igboora, Towobowo Igboora, Towobowo Market, Idere, Ayete, Tapa, and Igangan.
This latest effort follows earlier distributions made by Senator Alli to traders in markets within five other local governments: Ibadan South-West, Ibadan North, Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-East, and Ibadan North-East.
Senator Alli emphasized that this initiative is part of his ongoing commitment to support the economic well-being of his constituents during these challenging times.
“We understand the difficulties our people are facing, and we are committed to providing support where it is most needed,” the senator stated.
He further highlighted that the distribution of food palliatives is just one of many measures his administration is implementing to stabilize the district’s economy.
The beneficiaries of the palliatives, including various traders, expressed their deep gratitude for the senator’s intervention. They noted that the relief items would significantly help sustain their families during these difficult times.
The traders also praised Senator Alli for his proactive approach to addressing the pressing needs of his constituents, calling on other leaders to follow his example.
Meanwhile, the senator’s food palliative distribution program is part of a larger initiative aimed at ensuring that no one in his district is left behind amidst the current economic challenges.
His efforts have been widely commended by community leaders and residents, who regard him as a compassionate and dedicated leader focused on improving the lives of those he represents.
