NANTS Southwest Leadership Issues Warning Against Fraudulent Representation by Princess Aderonke Adedoja, Others

Ibadan, October 8, 2024 – The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) has issued a stern warning against Princess Aderonke Adedoja and Ademola Adebayo, an expelled member of the association, for fraudulent claims of holding executive positions within the organization.

In an official statement signed by Hon. Apesin Abiodun Adegoke, the Southwest Secretary of NANTS, the association condemned the actions of Princess Adedoja and her associates for falsely presenting themselves as the Southwest Coordinator and Secretary of NANTS. According to the statement, their activities have been flagged as illegal and misleading, with the association taking steps to address the matter through legal channels.

Adegoke noted that a formal report has been submitted to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone XI in Osogbo, outlining the unrecognized status of Princess Aderonke and her cohorts. The national leadership of NANTS, under Barr. Ken Ukaoha, has also confirmed that names of Princess Rahmat Aderonke Adedoja and Alhaji Lawal Abolade are not found in NANTS membership or leadership records.

“Any claims by these individuals to represent NANTS are baseless and fraudulent,” Adegoke emphasized.

The association urged the public and authorities to disregard any communications from Princess Aderonke Adedoja and Ademola Adebayo regarding NANTS. Adegoke further warned that any continued misrepresentation of the association would result in legal action to safeguard the integrity of NANTS.

The statement included an official list of recognized state coordinators and chairpersons across the Southwest region, reaffirming the legitimate leadership of NANTS in the region. The leadership expressed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the organization and ensuring that its true representatives are recognized and respected.

The letter was copied to several high-ranking officials, including the AIGs of Zone XI (Osogbo), Zone II (Lagos), and Zone XVII (Akure), as well as the governors, police commissioners, and DSS directors of the six Southwest states. The National President of NANTS, Barr. Ken Ukaoha, was also notified.

This warning follows a growing concern over impersonation and the spread of misinformation within trade organizations, with NANTS vowing to protect its legitimate members and operations from such fraudulent activities.
