Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a South West chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Chairman/CEO of Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited, has called on all levels of government to prioritize improving the livelihoods of Nigerians in 2025.
In a statement released on Monday, Ambassador Ajadi reflected on the struggles faced by Nigerians in 2024, urging leaders to adopt policies with a human touch to alleviate the nation’s economic challenges. His call comes as his company organizes a New Year festival on January 1, 2025, in Ibafo, Ogun State, to celebrate and uplift Nigerians as they step into the new year.
Ajadi lamented the hardships endured by citizens in 2024, highlighting the soaring cost of staple foods, the removal of fuel subsidies, and the inefficacy of government palliatives, which left many families in dire poverty.
“The outgoing year has been incredibly harsh for the average Nigerian,” Ajadi stated. “Families have struggled with skyrocketing food prices, and the failure of government palliatives to reach the needy has only worsened their plight. The stampedes during food distribution, leading to the tragic loss of lives in places like Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, underscore the dire conditions Nigerians are facing.”
He appealed to President Bola Tinubu and state governors to urgently address these issues in 2025, emphasizing the need to make food affordable and reduce fuel prices. “Nigeria is blessed with abundant resources, and it is unacceptable for its citizens to continue suffering in the midst of plenty. Policies must be implemented with compassion, and the President, as the Minister of Petroleum, must act to lower fuel prices,” he said.
As part of his efforts to bring joy to the people, Ajadi announced the New Year 2025 Get-Together Funfair, a festive event organized by Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited. Scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Ibafo, Ogun State, the celebration will feature musical performances by top artists, including Alhaji Taye Currency, 9ice, GYC, Sil Bugatti, Femo Lancaster, and Starpee. The event will also showcase comedians and MCs such as MC Kirikiri, Funke Oshodi Oke, MC Oba Theatre, and MC Odada.
Speaking about the event, Ajadi said, “This is my small way of spreading joy and helping Nigerians celebrate the New Year with hope and happiness.”
Ambassador Ajadi’s dual approach of advocating for policy reforms and organizing a festive gathering underscores his commitment to the well-being and upliftment of Nigerians as they embrace the possibilities of 2025.
