NHBC Honours Mission Mummy, Rachael Ajide, Praises Her as “A Pillar of Grace, a Perfect Fit for a Growing Church”

The New Heritage Baptist Church (NHBC), Eniosa Ibadan, on Sunday rolled out heartfelt tributes as members celebrated the birthday of their Mission Mummy, Mrs. Rachael Alaba Ajide, describing her as “a divine gift, a perfect helpmeet, and a pillar of grace for a developing church.”

In a celebration marked by gratitude, affection, and deep spiritual reflection, congregants showered praises on the wife of the church’s undershepherd, Reverend Philemon Olufemi Ajide, acknowledging her as a rare example of humility, endurance, and unwavering commitment to the work of God.

“A Virtuous Woman Among Us” — Church Members

The announcement of her birthday on the church’s WhatsApp platform early Sunday morning sparked an outpouring of heartfelt commendations, prayers, and testimonies. Members described her as an embodiment of the biblical Proverbs 31 woman“strength and honour are her clothing” (Proverbs 31:25).

“She is an ideal Mission Mummy for a church still in its developmental stage,” one member wrote. “Her modesty, simplicity, endurance, contentment, and profound faith in God are blessings to this ministry.”

Another member noted:

“It takes uncommon grace for a woman — a university graduate — to endure hardship in a developing community simply to support her husband’s divine calling. She stood with him more than ten years ago when this ministry began with only the two of them and their little daughter. Today, she remains the anchor of many departments in the church.”

“A Woman of Peace, Grace and Depth”

Fondly called Mummy Ajide, she is revered for her calm disposition, cultural refinement, and motherly leadership. Members testified that her maturity and wisdom have helped nurture various church units, strengthen fellowships, and sustain unity.

“She promotes peace with her lifestyle,” an executive member said. “Where others may raise voices, she raises prayers. Where people complain, she counsels. You cannot encounter her without learning something meaningful about Christian character.”

Her admirable spiritual role reinforces the biblical truth in Proverbs 31:30 — “A woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

Following the Sunday worship, the church executives — at what was earlier scheduled as their final meeting of the year — transformed the gathering into a mini-reception in honour of the celebrant. The atmosphere radiated joy as delicious meals and drinks were served generously.

Children who remained in church for departmental meetings or waited for their parents also took part in the celebration, turning the day into a family-centered expression of love and appreciation.

Prayers for More Fruitful Years

Members of the congregation, including the children, offered prayers for Mrs. Ajide, asking God to grant her long life, renewed strength, and greater impact in ministry. They prayed in the spirit of Psalm 92:12 — “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.”

They concluded with a collective affirmation:

“Happy Birthday, Mission Mummy. May God reward your labour of love and grant you many more productive, peaceful, and fulfilling years in His vineyard.”
