Shooting Stars Bolster Squad with New Signings, Reveals Fresh Kits for Ambitious 2024/25 Campaign

In a bold move signaling their intentions for the upcoming 2024/25 season, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has unveiled a roster of new players and a fresh set of jerseys, marking a significant step forward for the team.

The unveiling, which took place on Monday, featured eight new signings, each carefully selected to strengthen the squad across key positions.

The new recruits include two goalkeepers: Abiodun Akande from Rivers United and Mustapha Lawal from Sunshine Stars. The defense has been reinforced with the addition of center-back Ojietefian Sylvester from Enyimba, and left-back Ikouwem Udom, who arrives from Tunisian side Anenir Sportif De la Marsar. In midfield, the team welcomes Abubakar Aliu from Lobi Stars and Adebayo Abayomi, formerly of Remo Stars. The attacking line-up is bolstered by Bolaji Sakin Simeon, joining from AS Otoho in Congo, and Ayanrinde Samuel, who last played for Sporting Lagos FC.

During the unveiling ceremony, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, the Executive Chairman of 3SC, emphasized the club’s commitment to improving on last season’s performance. He explained that the new signings were brought in to complement the existing squad, which has retained most of its top players from the previous season. This strategy, according to Olaniyan, is aimed at ensuring continuity and stability within the team, further strengthened by retaining head coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

Olaniyan also revealed the club’s ambitious target for the upcoming season: to clinch the league title. He hinted that additional signings might still be made as the team continues to prepare for what promises to be a highly competitive season.

Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, sharing his thoughts, noted that the new signings were specifically chosen to address weaknesses identified in the previous season. He expressed confidence in the team’s potential to overcome past challenges and achieve success.

Echoing this optimism, the club’s General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, assured fans that the new additions would significantly enhance the squad’s quality. He expressed hope that these efforts would translate into a successful campaign, delivering the results that the club’s supporters eagerly anticipate.

As the Oluyole Warriors gear up for the new season, the unveiling of their home, away, and alternative kits symbolizes a fresh start and renewed determination. With a bolstered squad and a clear vision, Shooting Stars Sports Club is setting the stage for what could be a memorable season.
