Tinubu Appoints Zahrah Audu to Spearhead Nigeria’s Business Reforms as PEBEC DG

In a strategic effort to enhance Nigeria’s business climate and attract foreign investments, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu as the new Director-General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

The appointment was confirmed through a memo signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and released to journalists in Abuja on Monday.

Before her new role, Princess Zahrah Audu served as the Technical Adviser to the President on Foreign Direct Investment. A seasoned entrepreneur and technology expert, her extensive experience in promoting business-friendly policies is expected to be pivotal in her new capacity.

She succeeds Jumoke Oduwole, who was recently appointed Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment as part of President Tinubu’s cabinet reshuffle.

The statement announcing her appointment highlighted the significance of this move, stating, “In a landmark effort to bolster Nigeria’s economic growth and create a thriving business environment, President Bola Tinubu has entrusted Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu with the leadership of PEBEC. Her proven expertise and visionary approach will be instrumental in driving transformative changes in Nigeria’s business ecosystem.”

This development is seen as a strategic step by the Tinubu administration to solidify Nigeria’s position as a prime destination for foreign and domestic investors, ensuring that businesses of all scales find the country’s environment more conducive and competitive.

Observers and stakeholders in the business sector have expressed optimism that Audu’s leadership will drive the council’s mandate to simplify processes, reduce bottlenecks, and create a dynamic and enabling environment for economic activities across the nation.
