Children’s Day: Senator Sharafadeen Alli Urges Collective Action for a Brighter Future for Nigerian Children

Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (APC–Oyo South) has called for renewed commitment from all sectors of society toward safeguarding the rights and future of Nigerian children, as the nation marks the 2025 Children’s Day celebration.

In a statement issued by his Media Office on Tuesday in Ibadan, Senator Alli congratulated Nigerian children and described them as the pride and promise of the nation. He praised their resilience, creativity, and unyielding hope, encouraging them to remain steadfast in pursuit of a better tomorrow.

“Our children are the heartbeat of our nation’s future. Their resilience and dreams inspire hope, and we must do everything possible to help them fulfill their potential,” the lawmaker stated.

He expressed appreciation to parents, teachers, and caregivers for their dedication to nurturing the younger generation, emphasizing the critical role they play in shaping responsible and successful citizens.

Senator Alli also commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for demonstrating genuine concern for the welfare of children through progressive policies and increased investment in key sectors like education and healthcare.

“The present administration has shown unwavering commitment by increasing budgetary allocations to education and child welfare, ensuring that every Nigerian child has a better chance at accessing quality learning and healthcare,” he said.

Reaffirming his commitment to child-centered legislation and advocacy, the senator assured Nigerian children of his continued efforts in the Senate to push for policies that promote inclusive education, child protection, and youth empowerment.

He encouraged children across the country to stay focused on their dreams and embrace positive values that would shape them into responsible and productive adults.

Senator Alli further called on stakeholders—parents, educators, community leaders, and government agencies—to deepen their support for children by creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

“On this special occasion, I celebrate all Nigerian children. Let us, as a nation, rise to our responsibility of giving them the tools, protection, and opportunities they need. Together, we can build a Nigeria where no child is left behind and every dream is within reach,” he concluded.
