Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has joined the people of Ibarapa in mourning the death of Chief (Dr.) Amos Adepoju, the Asiwaju of Igboora land and father of Hon. Anthony Adepoju, member of the House of Representatives.

In a condolence message personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Senator Alli described the late Chief Adepoju as a “rare gem, a father figure, and a patriotic leader whose life of service remains a shining example.”

“We lost a gem, a father and a patriotic leader. Our father, the Asiwaju of Igboora land, lived a life worthy of emulation. He was a committed and dedicated leader who used every opportunity he had to serve God, humanity, and the Ibarapa community,” Alli said.

The senator highlighted the remarkable contributions of the late Chief Adepoju to national and community development, recalling with pride the numerous positions of responsibility he held during his lifetime. These include serving as Rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Chairman of 3SC/IICC, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Nasarawa State, Administrative Secretary of the Peoples’ Conscience Party (PCP), Pioneer National Financial Secretary of the PDP, and Commissioner at the Board of Immigration, Civil Defence, Correctional and Fire Service.

Senator Alli noted that through these roles, the late Asiwaju consistently demonstrated integrity, wisdom, and a selfless commitment to the progress of society.

He extended his deepest condolences to Hon. Anthony Adepoju, the Adepoju family, the people of Igboora, and the entire Ibarapa land, while praying for divine comfort for the bereaved.

“I pray that Almighty God grants the soul of our departed father eternal rest and gives the Adepoju family and the Ibarapa community the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
