Senator Sharafadeen Alli Celebrates Olubadan Ladoja’s Honourary Doctorate from Lead City University


Senator (Dr.) Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his conferment of an honorary doctorate degree by Lead City University, Ibadan.

In a statement personally signed and issued to journalists on Thursday in Ibadan, Senator Alli hailed the honour as a well-deserved recognition for the monarch’s outstanding contributions to leadership, governance, and community development.

Oba Ladoja received the Doctor of Science, Public Administration (Honoris Causa) in acknowledgment of his exemplary service to society and his role in promoting good governance and peace within Ibadanland and beyond.

Alli, who is the Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland, described the award as a testament to the Olubadan’s enduring legacy as a visionary and statesman whose influence radiates far beyond the traditional institution.

He noted that Lead City University had rightfully acknowledged Oba Ladoja’s integrity, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to societal progress, adding that the monarch’s leadership continues to inspire unity across Ibadanland and Yorubaland.

“Oba Ladoja remains a symbol of justice, fairness, and selfless service. His reign has strengthened the foundations of peace and collective advancement within the ancient city,” Alli stated.

The senator added that the honorary doctorate will serve as a source of motivation for emerging leaders, urging them to emulate the Olubadan’s humility, courage, and deep sense of responsibility.

He commended Lead City University for recognizing distinguished Nigerians who have made remarkable impacts in public life, noting that such gestures reflect the institution’s commitment to excellence and nation-building.

Senator Alli prayed for long life, good health, and divine wisdom for the Olubadan, wishing him continued success in steering Ibadanland toward greater peace, progress, and prosperity.
