Members of the Divine Mandate Movement have expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy to their Chairman, Raji Adebayo, following the death of his beloved mother, Alhaja Ramot Raji, who passed away on Wednesday night in Ibadan at the age of 93.
The late matriarch, described by family members, associates and admirers as a devoted Muslim, caring mother and woman of dignity, reportedly answered the call of her Creator after living a fulfilled and impactful life devoted to family, faith and humanity.
In a statement jointly issued by members of the movement, the group described Mama Ramot Raji’s death as a painful and irreparable loss, not only to the immediate family but also to all who benefitted from her wisdom, discipline, kindness and motherly guidance during her lifetime.
The association noted that although death remains an inevitable passage ordained by Almighty Allah, the departure of a virtuous mother leaves behind emotional pain and a vacuum difficult to fill.
Quoting from the Holy Qur’an, the group stated: “Every soul shall taste death, and unto Us you shall all be returned” (Qur’an 29:57), stressing that Muslims must always submit to the will and decree of Allah in all circumstances.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Comrade Adebayo, who is also the Oyo State Correspondent of the Daily Independent, announced that the late Alhaja Ramot Raji would be buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
According to him, the funeral prayer and burial service are scheduled to hold by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Guinness Street, Oladele Phase 1, Gbekuba, Ibadan, after which her remains would be moved to the Ansar-U-Deen Burial Ground, Omi-Adio, along Abeokuta Road, Ibadan, for interment.
Members of the Divine Mandate Movement described their chairman as a man of courage, humility and integrity who has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to humanitarian causes, praying that Almighty Allah would strengthen him and the entire family during this difficult period.
The group further prayed that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the deceased and grants her Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
“Indeed, to Allah belongs all that He gives and all that He takes. Everything with Him has an appointed term. We pray Allah grants Mama eternal rest and gives the family the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, sympathizers, journalists, professional colleagues, friends, relatives and associates from different parts of Nigeria, particularly across Oyo State, have continued to pour in condolence messages and prayers for the bereaved family.
Many described the deceased as a peaceful and virtuous woman whose life reflected discipline, compassion, humility and unwavering faith in Allah, qualities they said are worthy of emulation by younger generations.
