Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslims in Oyo South and beyond on the occasion of the new Islamic Calendar, Hijrah 1446 AH.
This announcement was made in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Akeem Abas, and released to the press on Sunday in Ibadan.
Hijrah marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year and commemorates the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina. Senator Alli expressed his joy in joining the Muslim community to celebrate this significant event, which symbolizes a new beginning.
“Let this occasion be a time for reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth,” Senator Alli encouraged. He urged Muslims to strengthen their faith, engage in acts of kindness, and promote peace and unity within their communities.
“The principles of Hijrah, which include perseverance, sacrifice, and commitment to righteousness, remain relevant in today’s world and should guide the actions of every Muslim,” he stated.
Senator Alli also called on Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s continued peace, stability, and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of unity and understanding among the country’s diverse religious and ethnic groups, noting that such harmony is crucial for national development.
He reassured his constituents of his commitment to fostering an inclusive society where everyone can thrive, regardless of their religious beliefs. Additionally, Senator Alli lauded the resilience and contributions of the Muslim community in Oyo South and across Nigeria, highlighting their significant role in the nation’s progress.
