The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State Council has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Sakin Babalola, a revered veteran journalist and former News Editor at the defunct Sketch Press Limited and Oodua News Newspaper.
In a heartfelt statement issued by the NUJ Acting Chairman, Seye Ojo, and the Union’s Secretary, Sola Oladapo, on behalf of the Chairman, Ademola Babalola, who is currently on annual vacation, the Union described Sakin Babalola as a dedicated and passionate journalist whose contributions to the field were unparalleled.
Beyond his professional achievements, Babalola was remembered as a devout Christian, a loving father, and a respected community leader, whose life touched many both within and outside the journalism community.
The Oyo State Council of the NUJ mourns the loss of this exceptional individual, whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations of journalists. The Union extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
