Senator Alli Vows to Deepen Service to Ibadanland After Elevation to Ekarun Balogun

Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed deep gratitude to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin, for his recent elevation to the esteemed position of Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland. The senator, along with five other prominent figures, received this honor, marking a significant milestone in their lives and careers.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to journalists on Friday in Ibadan, Senator Alli conveyed his profound appreciation for the recognition bestowed upon him by the revered monarch. He described the elevation as not only a personal honor but also a call to greater service and responsibility towards the people of Ibadanland.

“I am deeply humbled by this recognition and elevation by our esteemed Olubadan. It is a call to greater responsibility, and I assure our people that I will continue to contribute positively to the progress and unity of Ibadanland,” Senator Alli remarked.

He emphasized that this new role strengthens his commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland, vowing to diligently serve the community and its people. The lawmaker also took the opportunity to congratulate his fellow elevated chiefs, acknowledging their contributions to the growth and development of the city.

Among those elevated were Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, who advanced from Otun Balogun to Balogun, and Oba Kolawole Adegbola, who moved from Osi Balogun to Otun Balogun. Others included Oba John Olubunmi Isioye Dada, now Osi Balogun; Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, who progressed to Ashipa Balogun; and Chief Akeem Bolaji Adewoyin, who ascended to Ekerin Balogun.

Senator Alli commended these leaders for their dedication and noted that their new positions come with increased responsibilities that will further the service to Ibadanland. He reaffirmed his own commitment to uphold the dignity and values associated with his new chieftaincy title, while also fostering unity and progress within the community.

In his statement, Senator Alli also extended his appreciation to the members of the Olubadan-in-Council, the Mogajis, his family members, political associates, friends, and well-wishers who supported him during this significant occasion.
