14 Fridays of Divine Encounter: New Heritage Baptist Church Launches Annual Prayer Program for Breakthroughs, Protection, a Blessed New Year

As 2024 nears its end, New Heritage Baptist Church in Eniosa, Ibadan, is poised to begin its highly anticipated “14 Fridays Encounter” program, starting today, November 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church auditorium. The program, which will run over 14 consecutive Fridays, seeks to uplift congregants and the community in powerful sessions of prayer and worship.

Reverend Philemon Oluwafemi Ajide, the Undershepherd of the church, shared the history of this impactful initiative. “Our ‘14 Fridays Encounter’ began several years ago as a night vigil, initially held over the last seven Fridays of each year. However, given the current economic and security concerns, we shifted the time to 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and expanded the program to cover 14 Fridays—seven Fridays to close the year and seven to start the new one,” he explained.

According to Reverend Ajide, this program is a calling guided by the Holy Spirit to address the heartfelt prayers, needs, and burdens of the church members and the surrounding community. As stated in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Rev. Ajide emphasized that God’s presence will be strongly felt, bringing about provision, protection, and breakthroughs in the lives of those who participate.

“This encounter,” Rev. Ajide continued, “was divinely ordained to help us clear all outstanding requests and expectations before God as we end the year. Additionally, the initial Fridays of the new year will be dedicated to seeking His guidance, favour, and protection for a fruitful, secure, and successful year ahead.” He referenced Jeremiah 29:11, saying, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” encouraging everyone to trust in God’s plan through the program.

The pastor added that this year’s program promises to be unique. “God has assured us that this year’s encounter will surpass all previous years. Attendees, as well as those following along from home or on social media, will witness the mighty hand of God. This encounter will bring healing, restoration, and hope to all who engage with it, whether they are physically present or joining in spirit.”

Rev. Ajide will lead the program as the host minister, joined by other anointed ministers from across the country. He extended a heartfelt invitation to all, particularly in these challenging times when, he noted, “we need God’s intervention more than ever before.” Emphasizing Psalm 91:2, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust,” he assured all participants that God would meet them at their points of need.

“I urge everyone to be part of this encounter. You will not return home without a testimony; God is ready to work wonders in every life that seeks Him earnestly,” Rev. Ajide declared confidently, inviting the community to an experience that he believes will leave lasting memories and blessings for all who attend.

The “14 Fridays Encounter” stands as a call to gather, pray, and seek divine intervention for a prosperous conclusion to 2024 and a blessed start to 2025.
