Ibadan, Nigeria – Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, following the passing of his mother, Deaconess Margaret Oyeronke Alao.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and shared with journalists on Sunday, Senator Alli described the late Deaconess Alao as a remarkable woman whose life was defined by faith, compassion, and dedication to service.
Deaconess Alao passed away in the early hours of Friday at the age of 81 after a brief illness. Senator Alli reflected on her legacy, acknowledging the deep void her loss would create for both the royal family and the community.
“Deaconess Margaret Oyeronke Alao exemplified a virtuous life, rooted in unwavering faith and selfless devotion to her family, her community, and her Creator. Her passing is a painful reminder of life’s fragility, yet we find solace in the enduring legacy she leaves behind—one of kindness, integrity, and godliness,” Alli stated.
He praised Oba Francis Alao for his strength and resilience during this difficult time and encouraged him to find comfort in the impactful life his mother lived and the peace she now enjoys.
The senator offered prayers for the royal family and the people of Orile-Igbon, asking God to grant them fortitude in the face of this great loss.
