Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has launched a transformative cash empowerment program aimed at improving the economic well-being of women across his constituency. The initiative, which kicked off with hundreds of beneficiaries in Ibadan North Local Government, seeks to alleviate poverty and enhance financial independence for women at the grassroots.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, Senator Alli affirmed that the program would extend to other local governments within the Oyo South Senatorial District in the coming weeks, emphasizing his commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.
“This is just the beginning of a series of initiatives to uplift our women economically,” Senator Alli stated. “When women are financially empowered, the ripple effect benefits families and entire communities. My vision is to ensure no woman in Oyo South is left behind in achieving economic self-reliance.”
The senator highlighted the critical role of women in societal growth and called on political leaders and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives that support them.
“Our women are the backbone of our communities. They are hardworking, resilient, and indispensable to our collective progress. As leaders, we owe them every possible support to thrive,” he added.
Senator Alli also urged beneficiaries to utilize the grants effectively, underscoring the importance of sustainability and the potential for future interventions.
Some recipients expressed profound gratitude, noting how the support would transform their livelihoods. “This assistance will enable me to expand my petty trading business. Senator Alli has truly demonstrated care and commitment to the grassroots,” one beneficiary said.
The program, which provided varying cash grants, is set to continue across the district, reinforcing Senator Alli’s dedication to empowering women and fostering community development in Oyo South.
