Senator Alli Empowers Ibadan Health Centre with Vital Medical Equipment, Reaffirms Commitment to Grassroots Development

In a bold step toward strengthening primary healthcare delivery in Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has donated essential medical equipment to the Omowunmi Primary Healthcare Centre in Orita-Aperin, Ibadan.

The gesture, which drew commendation from government officials, health workers, and residents, was announced in a statement released by the senator’s media office on Friday.

The donation—comprising 89 critical items including a motorcycle, power generator, hospital beds with mattresses, fire extinguishers, sterilizers, stethoscopes, thermometers, and other life-saving tools—was received with excitement by the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Board, Dr. Tunde Olatunji, alongside medical personnel and community members.

Senator Alli described the initiative as a fulfilment of his campaign promise to improve the well-being of his constituents through enhanced, accessible, and efficient healthcare services.

“Quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege,” Senator Alli stated. “This intervention aligns with the ongoing transformation agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in strengthening Primary Healthcare Centres for better service delivery at the grassroots level.”

He noted that the donation is part of a broader development agenda already being implemented across the senatorial district, including the installation of solar-powered streetlights, provision of boreholes, skill acquisition programs, and e-marketing empowerment schemes.

Senator Alli assured that similar medical support would soon be extended to other healthcare facilities, especially in the Ibarapa zone of Oyo South.

Expressing appreciation to his supporters, the senator acknowledged party leaders and loyal constituents for their continuous backing, which he described as the backbone of his people-centered approach to governance.

In his remarks, Dr. Tunde Olatunji lauded Senator Alli’s timely and impactful contribution, emphasizing its significance in complementing the Oyo State Government’s mission to ensure affordable and accessible healthcare for all.

“This kind of partnership between the legislature and healthcare stakeholders is what we need to fast-track healthcare development,” Olatunji said. “We encourage the community to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment for lasting impact.”

Local residents, in turn, praised the senator for prioritizing healthcare delivery and living up to his campaign promises, describing the intervention as “timely, thoughtful, and transformational.”
