APC Presidential Primary: Senator Alli Mobilises Massive Support for Tinubu, Hails Peaceful Exercise in Oyo

Senator Sharafadeen Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, on Saturday led a strong show of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential direct primary election in Oyo State.

Speaking shortly after casting his vote at Ward 3 in Ibadan North Local Government Area, Senator Alli described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, credible and well-organised, commending party members and electoral officials for their orderly conduct throughout the process.

The lawmaker said the smooth conduct of the primary reflected the unity and growing confidence within the APC, stressing that party members across the country remained firmly committed to President Tinubu’s leadership.

“There is no other presidential candidate in our party apart from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. APC members are united and determined to support him overwhelmingly,” Alli stated.

The senator maintained that President Tinubu deserved re-election based on what he described as bold economic reforms and transformative policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria for long-term growth and stability.

According to him, the Tinubu administration has demonstrated courage in addressing critical national challenges, including fuel scarcity, infrastructure deficits and access to higher education funding.

He specifically highlighted the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a landmark initiative that has expanded educational opportunities for Nigerian students.

Alli also praised the administration’s economic reforms, particularly the unification of the foreign exchange system, saying the policy had eliminated multiple exchange windows and restored investor confidence in the economy.

While acknowledging that some Nigerians were still facing economic hardships, the senator argued that the ongoing reforms were necessary steps toward national recovery and sustainable development.

“No government can satisfy everybody at the same time, but what is important is that the country is moving in the right direction,” he said.

“We have never had it this good in Nigeria. With the solid foundation already laid, President Tinubu deserves another term to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.”

Senator Alli expressed optimism that the APC would continue to grow stronger in Oyo State, declaring that the party was fully prepared to reclaim power in the state in future elections.

He further noted that Nigeria was gradually gaining recognition among the world’s fastest-growing economies due to the reforms introduced by the current administration.

Commenting on the outcome of the presidential primary, Alli disclosed that the official results from across the country would be announced by the APC National Secretariat on or before Sunday.

The APC presidential direct primary was conducted simultaneously across wards nationwide amid heightened political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
