The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State will, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, host the 2026 Corps Employers’ Workshop simultaneously across its four zonal offices in Osogbo, Ilesa, Ile-Ife and Ikirun, following the approval of the Director-General of the Scheme.
A statement issued by the NYSC Osun Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Catherine Otemuyiwa, on behalf of the State Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, said the workshop forms part of the NYSC’s nationwide stakeholders’ engagement programme across states under the South-West Area Office I.
The workshop is themed “Fine-tuning Stakeholders’ Collaboration for Enhanced Corps Members’ Welfare and Workplace Experience.” It is designed to strengthen collaboration between the NYSC and corps employers with a view to improving the welfare, supervision, security and workplace experience of corps members serving across the state.
According to the statement, the workshop will hold simultaneously at Atlantis Event Centre, beside NASFAT, Osogbo, for the Osogbo Zone; Ilesa East Local Government Secretariat, Ilesa, for the Ilesa Zone; Ife City Hall, Ile-Ife, for the Ife Zone; and Ifelodun Local Government Secretariat, Ikirun, for the Ikirun Zone.
The opening ceremony at the Osogbo Zonal Centre will be declared open by the Chairman of the NYSC Osun State Governing Board and the Osun State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan. The keynote address of the Director-General of the NYSC will be delivered by the representative of the South-West Area Office I.
About 400 participants are expected at the Osogbo centre, while each of the Ilesa, Ile-Ife and Ikirun centres will host approximately 200 participants, bringing the total expected attendance to about 1,000.
Participants will include corps employers from both the public and private sectors, government officials, NYSC management and staff, as well as corps members.
The statement noted that the workshop would provide a strategic platform for the NYSC and corps employers to review existing partnerships, discuss emerging challenges in the administration of the Scheme and develop practical strategies to enhance the welfare, productivity and workplace experience of corps members at their places of primary assignment.
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, called on all invited corps employers and other critical stakeholders to attend and actively participate in the workshop, expressing confidence that their contributions would further strengthen the implementation of the objectives of the NYSC Scheme in Osun State.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the National Youth Service Corps to sustaining productive partnerships with stakeholders in promoting national unity, youth development and quality service delivery across the country.
The NYSC also described the press release as a formal invitation to the opening ceremony and urged all invited participants to be seated before the commencement of proceedings.
