The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course will commence on Wednesday, August 5, and run until Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
The schedule, contained in a circular issued by the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, stated that the three-week orientation programme is for prospective corps members deployed to Osun State for the mandatory one-year national service.
According to the timetable, registration and verification of prospective corps members will begin on Wednesday, August 5, and end at midnight on Friday, August 7, 2026. All prospective corps members have been advised to complete their registration within the stipulated period, as late registration will not be entertained.
In a statement issued by the Osun State Public Relations Officer of the Scheme, Mrs. Catherine Otemuyiwa, on behalf of the State Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, the NYSC disclosed that the swearing-in ceremony for the batch will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the orientation camp in Ede.
The ceremony is expected to be presided over by the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, while the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, will administer the National Pledge and the NYSC Oath of Allegiance on the prospective corps members.
The orientation course is designed to prepare prospective corps members for the service year through a series of activities, including military drills, leadership and citizenship training, lectures on national development, entrepreneurship and skills acquisition programmes, sporting events and other social engagements aimed at promoting national unity and integration.
The NYSC management expressed appreciation to the government and people of Osun State for their continued support towards the successful conduct of orientation exercises over the years.
It also appealed to members of the public, particularly officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), to assist prospective corps members travelling to the state by directing them to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede to ensure a smooth arrival process.
The Scheme further urged employers of labour in both the public and private sectors requiring the services of corps members to submit their requests to the nearest NYSC office in their respective local government areas to facilitate equitable deployment after the orientation programme.
The NYSC reaffirmed its commitment to providing a conducive environment for the orientation exercise and called on all stakeholders to continue supporting the Scheme in its efforts to promote national unity, youth development and selfless service.
