In a swift response to the news widely circulated on Wednesday morning by most online media, who reported that building housing Federal Ministry of Finance gutted fire, the ministry has released a statement to deny the news.
In a release made available to reporters, the media aide to Honourable Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, described the news as untrue and confirmed that Finance Ministry’s apartment was not razed by fire.
He said, “Rather there was an incident on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery pack and it was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty.”
