The Federal Government has finally announced the resumption of final year students in secondary schools on August 4, while the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations will commence on August 17. This was mentioned in a virtual consultative meeting of stakeholders.
The meeting which took place virtually had in attendance; the Federal Ministry of Education, Commissioners of Education of the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, the proprietors of private schools and Chief Executives of examination bodies.
The Director, Press and Public Relations pointed that the resumption of the final year students on the 4th of August would aid adequate preparation for WASSCE scheduled to commence on 17th of August, 2020.
For adequate harmony in examination date, a meeting has been called between the Federal Ministry of Education and Chief Executives of examination bodies namely, NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS. The outcome of the meeting would be conveyed promptly to stakeholders by the Federal Ministry of Education.”
