Greenwood Scores Winning Goal For United To Secure Victory Over Brighton

– United Expand Lead Over Leicester by 4 Points, Chelsea By 9 Points

Second half goals from Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood secured 2-1 narrow victory for Manchester United over Brighton & Hove Albion in the 30th match of the 2020/2021 Premier League season on Sunday.

With the victory Manchester United is now comfortably in second place in the league table behind Manchester City whose first position on the table looks incontestable with 14 points lead. Though United also expanded their lead over third place, Leicester City by four points.

United were forced to end the first half with a goal down at Old Trafford, courtesy of a goal scored for Brighton by United former striker, Danny Welbeck in the 13th minute. United became more aggressive in the second half, looking for every possible way to equalise. At 62nd, United finally levelled the affair when Rashford slotted in a goal, after connecting on Bruno Fernandes’ pass for a shot into the corner of the net.

The final goal of the match scored by Greenwood was all that’s required to give United the deserving three points. Greenwood nod in Paul Pogba’s volley from close range to make 2021 Easter celebration a worthwhile for United fans.
