2027: PDP Will Retain Oyo, Ajadi Assures Transport Unions, Calls for Unity Among PMS Members

A leading governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the state in the 2027 general elections.

Ajadi gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing members of the Park Management System (PMS) at their headquarters in New Garage, Ibadan. He urged transport union leaders and commercial drivers across the state to remain united and sustain the peaceful atmosphere currently existing within their ranks.

According to him, unity and stability within the transport sector are crucial to the continued progress of Oyo State.

“My advice to the Park Managers and commercial drivers in Oyo State is to continue to embrace love and peaceful coexistence. Remain united and do not allow anyone to cause division among you,” he said.

Ajadi maintained that the PDP remains deeply rooted in the state and is well-positioned to produce the next governor in 2027.

“Do not be deceived. Stay steadfast. I assure you that our party, the PDP, will produce the next governor come 2027,” he stated.

The governorship hopeful explained that his visit to the PMS headquarters was part of efforts to engage critical stakeholders and formally intimate them of his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election.

“Today, I joined my people, the park managers in Oyo State, to familiarize myself with them and formally inform them of my aspiration to serve the people of Oyo State as governor by the grace of God,” Ajadi said.

Outlining his vision for the transport sector, Ajadi pledged to modernize city cab operations in collaboration with the PMS, noting that improved branding and regulation would enhance the overall image of urban transportation in the state.

He also promised to expand the mass transit system by increasing the number of buses and ensuring their availability across all zones of the state. According to him, the mass transit scheme would operate in partnership with park managers to guarantee efficiency and sustainability.

Ajadi further commended Governor Seyi Makinde for establishing modern bus terminals across the state, assuring that his administration would ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of the facilities if elected in 2027.
