The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Osun State Secretariat, has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course will commence on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
According to a statement issued by the Osun State NYSC Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Catherine Otemuyiwa, on behalf of the State Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, the three-week orientation exercise will run from September 30 to Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The exercise is being conducted in accordance with a circular issued by the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement said registration and verification of prospective corps members would commence on Wednesday, September 30 and close at midnight on Friday, October 2, 2026.
The Swearing-in and Official Opening Ceremony is scheduled to take place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
The ceremony will be presided over by the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, while the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele-Ojo, will administer the National Pledge and NYSC Oath of Allegiance to the prospective corps members.
Welcoming the prospective corps members to Osun State, Kubiangha urged them to report promptly to the orientation camp and conduct themselves responsibly throughout the three-week programme.
He advised them to comply strictly with camp rules and regulations, stressing that discipline and responsible conduct are essential components of the NYSC experience.
The State Coordinator also assured the prospective corps members that the NYSC, in collaboration with the Osun State Government, security agencies and other relevant stakeholders, had put necessary arrangements in place to ensure a safe, orderly and rewarding orientation experience.
The orientation programme will feature military drills, physical training, lectures, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) activities, social and cultural events, inter-platoon competitions and community development sensitisation, among other activities.
According to the statement, the programmes are designed to promote discipline, patriotism, leadership, teamwork, selfless service and national integration among young Nigerians drawn from different parts of the country.
As part of the cultural activities, prospective corps members are expected to come along with appropriate cultural or traditional attire for participation in the cultural carnival.
The NYSC advised prospective corps members to come with all required documents and personal effects and to comply with official instructions throughout the orientation exercise.
They were also urged to remain security-conscious, avoid situations that could compromise their safety and promptly report suspicious activities or other concerns to camp officials or appropriate security personnel.
The Scheme further appealed to corps employers requiring the services of corps members to submit their requests to the NYSC office in the local government area where they are located.
The NYSC management also called on the State Transport Union to support the safe transportation of prospective corps members to the orientation camp and ensure that they are not subjected to any form of extortion.
Prospective corps members were advised to avoid night journeys and use designated motor parks when travelling to the orientation camp.
The NYSC Osun State Secretariat wished all prospective corps members a successful orientation exercise and a fulfilling year of national service, while urging all stakeholders to continue supporting the Scheme in its efforts to promote national unity, youth development and responsible citizenship.
