The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) B Zone has extended heartfelt congratulations to Alhassan Yahaya and Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde on their resounding success in the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ (NUJ) just-concluded 8th Triennial National Delegates Conference and Election in Owerri, Imo State.
In a statement jointly signed by the Zonal Vice Chairperson, Comrade Adeola Adekunle, and the Zonal Secretary, Comrade Adeola Adewole, NAWOJ described the victory as a well-deserved milestone for the betterment of journalists across the nation.
The statement praised Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, the newly elected NUJ National President, and Dr. Abimbola Oyetunde, the Deputy National President, as exemplary leaders whose unwavering dedication and impactful contributions have solidified their reputations as champions of the union’s progress.
NAWOJ B Zone urged the newly elected officials and other members of the Central Working Committee (CWC) to prioritize unity and collaboration for the overall development of the union and the welfare of its members.
The Zone also commended journalists for electing capable leaders who have pledged to uphold the ethics of the profession while fostering a culture of welfare, safety, and professionalism.
With this new leadership, NAWOJ B Zone expressed optimism about a transformative era for Nigerian journalism, driven by integrity and purposeful leadership.
