Oyo NNPP Elects New Leadership, Promises Stronger Presence, Victory Pathway Ahead of 2027 Elections


The Oyo State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has elected a new executive council, reaffirming its readiness to emerge as a major political force in the 2027 general elections.

The newly constituted State Executive includes:

  • State Chairman: Hon. Makinde Anthony Sunday
  • Deputy Chairman: Chief Bandele Akeem Oyekunle
  • State Secretary: Mr. Olalekan Ojo Abiodun
  • Publicity Secretary: Mr. Olapade Olusoji Timothy
  • Financial Secretary: Hon. Adewale Orosiji
  • Organising Secretary: Elder Atanda Olayiwola Lawrence
  • Legal Adviser: Barr. Aware Bolanle Ajoke
  • Treasurer: Comrade Opeyemi Ibrahim
  • Women Leader: Mrs. Dasola Adebayo
  • Youth Leader: Mr. Oyewole Taiwo

Speaking shortly after his emergence, the newly elected Chairman, Hon. Makinde Anthony Sunday, expressed confidence that the new leadership team has the experience, capacity, and resolve to reposition the NNPP and secure significant victories across Oyo State in 2027.

He said the calibre of individuals in the new executive reflects the party’s determination to expand its political footprint, strengthen its organisational structure, and present itself as a credible alternative for the people of the state.

Hon. Makinde commended party members for conducting a peaceful and mature election, describing the atmosphere as a testament to the NNPP’s internal cohesion and democratic values.

He appealed to politically ambitious individuals across the state to consider the NNPP as a viable platform for achieving their aspirations.

“The door of our party is wide open,” he said.
“Anyone who has an ambition to contest for any position in Oyo State should come into the NNPP. We will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants.”

The chairman assured residents of Oyo State that the NNPP is prepared to offer an administration focused on public welfare—not hardship.

“Let me assure the good people of Oyo State that NNPP is ready to bring relief, not suffering. Unlike the current PDP-led government that is worsening the people’s hardship, our priority will be your welfare and wellbeing,” he stated.

Hon. Makinde reiterated that the newly elected executive would begin work immediately to strengthen party structures at all levels ahead of the next general elections.
