The All Progressives Congress (APC) party through its Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has reversed its earlier decision on indefinite postponement of its national convention.
As earlier reported by the inquisitiores.com, the CECPC of the party had on Monday afternoon communicated through a letter, its decision to cancel February 26 previously fixed for the national convention to INEC.
Another letter was issued and addressed to INEC same February 21st, 2022 to nullify the earlier one. It was stated in the new letter that the convention will now take place on March 26, the date earlier slated for the conduct of its zonal congresses.
Information regarding the new development was made available to journalists in Abuja by the National Secretary of the party, John James Akpanudoedehe. He said the preparation for the national convention will commence on 24 of February, 2022, while the zonal congresses will hold before the national convention slated for 26 of March, 2022.
“After deliberation and agreement with the CECPC, we have agreed and approved that the activities of the National Convention will commence from Feb. 24 and terminates in March 26 at Eagle Square with the National Convention.
“In between the convention, we have agreed to have zonal congresses,” the APC scribe said.
The time table and schedule of activities for zonal congresses across the six (6) geopolitical zones as released by the party inline with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Constitution, Article 12.6 are as follows:-
