Hijrah 1447: Senator Sharafadeen Alli Calls for Unity, Faith, National Renewal

As Muslims across the globe mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria, especially those in Oyo State, urging them to embrace the season as a time for spiritual renewal, unity, and national rebirth.

In a goodwill message released through his media office on Thursday in Ibadan, Senator Alli described the commemoration of Hijrah 1447 AH as an opportunity for deep introspection and recommitment to the values of faith, justice, compassion, and collective progress.

He encouraged Muslims to draw inspiration from the historic Hijrah—the migration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah—which, he said, represents profound lessons in courage, resilience, sacrifice, and absolute trust in Allah.

“The essence of Hijrah goes beyond movement; it symbolizes a journey of faith, purpose, and transformation,” he noted. “At a time when our nation is grappling with economic, social, and security challenges, we must use this occasion to reflect and unite in the spirit of renewal.”

Senator Alli called on Muslims and Nigerians at large to promote peace, love, and tolerance across all divides, stressing that only through unity and shared responsibility can the country achieve lasting development.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to pursuing inclusive policies and programs that will enhance the quality of life in his senatorial district and beyond, pledging continued advocacy for improved healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment—especially for the underserved.

“As we step into Hijrah 1447, let us not only renew our spiritual commitment but also renew our hope for a better Nigeria,” he added.

The senator concluded by praying for a peaceful and prosperous year ahead for the nation, and for Allah to continue guiding the leaders and citizens of Nigeria on the path of righteousness and progress.

“May this new year bring us closer to our goals as individuals and as a nation. I wish all Muslims a blessed and spiritually rewarding Hijrah,” he said.
