Senator (Dr.) Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his emergence as the rotational Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement personally signed by the senator and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.
Senator Alli described the ascension of Oba Ladoja to the leadership of the council as timely and strategic, noting that it comes at a period when the role of traditional institutions in fostering peace, unity, and grassroots development has become increasingly important.
According to him, the Olubadan’s emergence is a well-deserved recognition of his royal pedigree, vast experience, wisdom, and enduring contributions to the stability, unity, and overall development of Oyo State.
Alli, who is also the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, said the appointment represents a significant step toward strengthening and restoring public confidence in traditional institutions across the state.
He expressed confidence that under Oba Ladoja’s chairmanship, the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs would play a pivotal role in promoting peaceful coexistence, resolving communal disputes, preserving cultural heritage, and supporting grassroots-oriented development initiatives.
The senator further noted that the Olubadan’s background in both governance and traditional leadership uniquely positions him to foster greater harmony among royal fathers while complementing government efforts aimed at sustainable development.
Senator Alli prayed for divine wisdom, sound health, and guidance for Oba Ladoja throughout his tenure, urging him to continue to serve as a symbol of unity, stability, and progress for Ibadanland and Oyo State at large.
