Ajadi Commends Police for Rescue of Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons, Urges Swift Action on Orire Kidnap Victims

The Oyo Central Senatorial Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has applauded the Nigeria Police Force for the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, describing the operation as a remarkable demonstration of professionalism, courage and intelligence-driven policing.

Ajadi, however, urged security agencies not to relent in their efforts, calling for the immediate and safe rescue of the teachers, pupils and principal abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Mrs. John-Paul, who is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons were rescued alive during a late-night operation carried out by security operatives on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped on June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school.

According to the police, sustained intelligence gathering, strategic surveillance and tactical pressure mounted on the kidnappers eventually forced them into a confrontation with security operatives, leading to the successful rescue of the victims without loss of life.

In a statement personally signed and made available to journalists on Sunday, Ajadi praised the officers involved in the operation, saying their commitment and professionalism had rekindled public confidence in the ability of the police to protect lives and combat criminal elements.

“The successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons is a commendable achievement. The officers involved displayed exceptional courage, professionalism and tactical expertise in the discharge of their duties,” he said.

The APM chieftain noted that the operation has reassured Nigerians that the nation’s security agencies remain capable of responding effectively to criminal threats when adequately mobilised and supported.

“This successful operation has restored confidence in many Nigerians that they have security personnel who can come to their aid during moments of distress and danger,” Ajadi added.

He also commended Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for his commitment to the security and welfare of residents of the state.

Ajadi specifically referenced the governor’s visit to the residence of Chief Adelabu shortly after the abduction, where he reportedly assured the family that every effort would be made to secure the release of the victims.

According to him, the governor’s swift intervention and continued engagement demonstrated responsive leadership and concern for the safety of citizens.

While celebrating the successful rescue operation, Ajadi called on the police and other security agencies to intensify efforts toward securing the release of the victims abducted in Orire Local Government Area.

He stressed that the government and security agencies must sustain the momentum generated by the latest success until all kidnapped persons in the state regain their freedom.

“The rescue of these victims should further motivate our security agencies to redouble their efforts in ensuring the safe return of the teachers, pupils and principal abducted in Orire. Every life matters, and every victim deserves the same urgency and commitment,” he said.

Ajadi expressed optimism that ongoing security operations would yield positive results, urging residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with credible information that could assist ongoing investigations and rescue efforts.

He also offered prayers for Governor Makinde and security personnel involved in the operations, expressing hope that their efforts and sacrifices would culminate in the safe return of all remaining victims.

“I pray that God grants Governor Makinde, our security agencies and all those involved in the rescue operations greater strength, wisdom and success. May the current efforts be crowned with the safe rescue of the Orire victims and the restoration of peace and security across Oyo State,” Ajadi stated.

The APM senatorial candidate reaffirmed the need for stronger collaboration between government, security agencies and local communities in addressing the growing challenge of kidnapping and other security threats across the state and the country.
