The Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Rafiu Ariwoola, has praised Senator Sharafadeen Alli for what he described as a landmark intervention in the community, declaring that Igangan has never enjoyed such impactful representation.
The monarch gave the commendation on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the senator’s Ibadan residence, where he led community leaders and parents to express their gratitude.
“I came to appreciate Senator Alli for all he has done for our people,” Oba Ariwoola said. “Since I became king, no leader has matched his efforts. Igangan has never had it this good.”
A major highlight of the senator’s intervention is the facilitation of a solar power project at the Federal Science and Technical College, Igangan. The project, executed by Casbern Global Services Limited, comprises 64 solar panels, 32 batteries and inverters, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply across classrooms, laboratories and workshops.
“The 64 solar panels, 32 batteries and inverters are a game-changer,” the monarch noted. “This project has brought life back to our schools. Parents who once withdrew their children are now encouraged to send them back.”
Oba Ariwoola also disclosed that land has been earmarked for the construction of a community health centre, another project facilitated by the senator.
“We trusted many people in the past, but they did nothing. Senator Alli has surpassed our expectations by delivering more than we demanded,” the monarch added.
Supporting the monarch’s remarks, Igangan Community Secretary, Mr. Isau Ayandele, described the project as historic, noting that the last time the community witnessed such development was during the era of the late Senator Peter Adeyemo.
“This appreciation is not just from the palace but from the entire community,” Ayandele said. “Senator Alli has proven himself as a leader who matches words with action.”
In his response, Senator Sharafadeen Alli pledged to sustain the momentum of development, promising that more projects are underway.
“By God’s grace, we will do more,” he assured. “The 2024 budget is ongoing, and the 2025 budget will deliver greater interventions.”
The senator reaffirmed his commitment to his one-per-ward borehole initiative and announced plans to partner with foreign investors in agricultural ventures aimed at empowering youths and supporting farmers in Igangan and beyond.
